BLOGFESTWEST
The Right Side of the Left Coast
You may be asking yourself, who are Cinnamon, Ed and Nina, and why would I want to go to this "fest" they're planning.  Well here's a start. If you want to know more, please post questions in our Guestbook.

The blogfest was conceived by Cinnamon and adopted by Ed and Nina because, well, it involved food and booze. Oh, and a party - let's not forget the party. What better project to adopt than a party. We are all bloggers, of different sorts, and we wanted to create a way for local bloggers to get together and meet in person, and perhaps even have out-of-town bloggers visit. As much as we all, obviously, view online communication as a good thing, we also know that meeting in person elevates communication to a new level.

We also like to party. This party idea is going to be a theme throughout the planning of the bash. In fact, if this doesn't work out, we'll plan a different sort of party. So honest, the blogging bit is just an excuse...for a party.

So, our goal is first and foremost to have a good time. And we'd like to create a way for others to have a good time too. Any benefits beyond that are purely incidental.

Speaking of having a good time, please read the following small print: If this becomes something that's not fun to organize, well, we're not going to. It's as simple as that. We'll go out to dinner ourselves. We'd love to get suggestions. We welcome them. But we reserve the right to make unilateral (okay, trilateral) decisions without consulting anyone. You can plan your own fest if you don't like our decisions. We don't want to sound un-inviting. In fact we're inviting the world. That's how inviting we are. But we did want to take a moment to remind you this is not a democracy.

And now, a little bit about us.

In addition to being bloggers, Cinnamon and Ed are also journalists, and Nina's an attorney. Our blogs are:
Cinnamon Stillwell Edward Driscoll Nina Yablok  We share an interest in the internet as a medium of communication, and as a social venue.

While Ed and Cinnamon might be considered the right side of the left coast, Nina is firmly committed to being soft, undecided center of the tootsie roll that is our country.

Ed's hobbies are music, classic men's clothing and telling jokes that whiz right by most people, although sometimes you'll see someone figure out some obscure connection and laugh about 17 seconds after the joke ended.

Nina's hobbies are planting things every May and digging them up by June or July, trying to catch at least 25% of Ed's jokes and labeling anything that stands still with her Brother P-Touch labeler.

Cinnamon's hobbies are
explaining her name (hippie parents), hanging out with fellow former lefties, bemoaning the fate of Western civilization, reading hatemail, buying shoes and not wearing them, being nice to tourists, and walking for miles and miles (anything to avoid MUNI).
